Why might I need a Counsellor?
You may often have thought about whether or not you need a counsellor. It could be that you are having problems in your relationship, or that you personally are feeling depressed and unfulfilled.
There is no set answer for when it’s time to try counselling. You may instead be better off asking yourself if you have anything to lose from counselling? Or if there are gains you could make!
For counselling students, counselling is a set requirement. You must have received at least 5 hours of personal therapy before your CPCAB level 4 course starts and you must have completed an additional 5 hours of personal therapy before you go on placement.
You will also benefit from experiencing the counselling relationship from the side of the client, this will help you to become a better counsellor in the future.Â
